This brazen impunity was perpetrated by the Federal Government on Sunday night in spite of torrents of protests recorded in the commercial city of Onitsha and other major cities of Anambra State last weekend over rumours of Government intention on the matter.
The Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, as the Chief Security Officer of the state expressed his reservations over Federal Government's intentions, cataloguing the security implications.
This was followed by an avalanche of denials from the Federal Prison Authorities. Dramatically, the Federal Government still went ahead to relocate them to Ekwulobia against the avowed wishes and volition of the peace-loving people of Anambra State.
