Some blackberry network providers do not allow users to check their account balance without blackberry subscription, however, there's a trick which you can use to boycott this restriction.

To check your account balance, dial your customer care number or any phone number, in the process of calling the number, now dial the code to check your balance and wait for response.

For example, if you are on MTN network, you can call 180 or someone mobile number, in the process of calling the number, dial *556# and call and your account balance will appear.
